I ran across a post this morning on Stupid Evil Bastard “Over 300 proofs of the Existence of God”. There was a link I did not follow, a portion of it was shown which looked completely satirical. I posted a comment saying I never argue to prove the existence of God. It’s all subjectional. The majority of atheists in my past have never read the Bible or only portions of it, especially the portions that are ambiguous to even the best of Christians.Les responded with an email that shared he had read the Bible 4 times prior to becoming an atheist. I had to write back..asking the what, when, how’s and why of it all. He wrote back a great letter about his search for “The Truth”. On his asking permission I urged him to post it..and he did.I want to write back, share some things from my search as soon as I organize my thoughts. I don’t preach, persuade or argue. My beliefs are simple, and I believe God’s call is like the telephone ringing with caller ID. You choose to pick it up or go back to what you are doing. But the call comes. In one way I believe: if you are searching for the truth, you know the call came…you just wonder if you screwed up by not answering it, or hung up too soon.Anyway, isn’t blogging a great thing? Of course I would prefer to sit down and discuss it all over a cup of coffee or a beer, but this is a damn good second choice.

Well since I just posted a morbid topic, lets pick things up. Uday, Qusay and Mustafa were buried yesterday by family and supporters. See the pics here. It seems there was alot of whining going on about the decomposition of the bodies and how they couldn’t be buried properly. Should of thrown their asses in a mass grave…isn’t that Uday and Qusay’s normal custom?Maybe I’m a cold hearted bitch but I would of arrested and detained every mourner at that funeral. Let them all be martyrs. Asswipes show more respect for the dead then they do for the living.

Well I just had my every other month trip to the grocery store…ugh. I decided to go early, if you call 9am early. Lo and behold the place is packed. What’s with these people? Don’t they go to church? I was told I should go late Sunday afternoons…because that’s when I could pick up the single guys, but that sounds like too much work.So I was there today with the old folks, the young moms with the screaming kids, and the young wifes with the husbands in tow. Now my basket is overflowing by the time I hit the meat section and I notice the old folks and the moms with the screaming kids basically window shopping at the meat counters. By the time I elbow my way in and see the meat prices, HOLY SHIT I should be window shopping too. How the hell does a young family put meat on the table? Listen to this, I bought 4# of hamburger and a small beef roast: $18.

Well I made it through Monday…yippee. It’s raining or sprinkling in places, and there is something about Michigan traffic when they get a drop of rain on their car it’s an unwritten rule you must slam on your brakes. It doesn’t matter if traffic is flowing smoothly at 75mph…you must slam on your brakes. I think this is to warn the driver behind you there is impending water coming from the sky.Anyway I made it home and now I’m having a great cup of coffee with amaretto flavoring…fattening as hell, but damn is it good.Well I didn’t get any responses to my query about being a guest blogger while I am gone. I won’t let up yanno. I woke up this morning with someone – actually heavy on my mind to ask, I’ve thought about it all day and the feeling persists…and I sent off the letter a few minutes ago to ask if she’d at least do one post (if not more). She is excellent and doesn’t post much. So cross your fingers and hope for the best.I know I said I wouldn’t start begging for awhile…I lied. Let the begging begin.

The Travel Channel had a program on tonight called the “10 Most Chilling Places to Visit”. The first segment talked about a Mayan legend of 13 crystal skulls that is said to have magical and healing properties. A few of the skulls have been found, the most famous being the Mitchell-Hedges skull. This skull was reportedly found on a dig site in 1924..but later proven to have been purchased in London at a Sotheby’s auction in 1943.Although this bit of probable fraud that took place doesn’t negate the fact that the skull is anatomically correct and has no tool markings. Testing done on the skull was unable to produce any method for creating this skull. Scientists have declared that some of the skulls range from 5000 to over 30,000 years old.The skull.
Anyway, as an avid follower of weird things I thought I would share. Google produced a few hits on the subject. Here and hereand last but not least here.

I’ve thought alot today about the article I posted this morning…and how bloggers are doing this for attention. So I’ve once again been examining my motives and what is the best part about this for me. The best part for me is the comments…I love the comments. Why?
So I was trying to think about times that people get together to discuss an issue. Any issue. Parties, classrooms, bars..maybe some. I might be missing out but I couldn’t come up with even 5 places. Then I remembered back when I was growing up. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in Iowa…as soon as the weather became even part way warm we would sit out on our porches at night. The neighbors always ended up gathering on someones porch…usually my Grandpa’s, his was the biggest. The adults would discuss everything…war, politics, movie stars…other neighbors not present. Hours would fly by.Not only did those discussions take place on the porch, but in grocery stores, drug stores, barber shops, beauty salons. Sometimes with strangers…do you remember back when people you didn’t know weren’t necessarily strangers?
I think blogging is becoming the neighbors on Grandpa’s front porch. The ladies sharing their opinions in the “dime store”. The men hanging out in the barbershop..and one man reading something interesting in the paper to the others. I can think of a multitude of other places we would stop and just chat awhile with people you don’t know…not strangers, a new acquaintance.
God knows we dare not talk to anyone in the grocery store anymore. We are too busy to hang in a barbershop. And what the hell is a dime store?
I don’t think we are begging for attention, I think we are yearning to communicate again. Share. Make an uncomfortable world comfortable again. We each could answer that differently…but that’s my philosophical BS for the day.

A couple of weeks ago there was a debate going on about a black man who was shot several times in the back because he was walking away from police officers who “thought” he was carrying a weapon. Come to find out the man was holding a cell phone. I wish I could remember who’s blog that was.I left a comment that said something to the fact..why didn’t they just do a takedown. There were several police officers close by, the man was walking away. Body tackle? Others comments basically said I was stupid and been watching too much TV. Take downs don’t happen. So for those fools who think it doesn’t happen, I offer you this video. This is what a take down looks like in “real” life, not the hollywood version.I never left anymore comments to that thread even though I know take downs happen all the time. My ex-husband was a cop, my brother is a cop. I’ve seen the physical evidence left on both of them from take downs. Resisting arrest happens all the time – yes, with people even carrying weapons and cell phones.

It is a fact that in Brazil the notebooks have caught on in such a way that was impossible to predict, but we know that one reason for this would be a great supply of good equipment at costs well below that Australian consumers have become accustomed. Today you can buy a good notebook to a desktop price, with settings and prices that leave those who bought laptops antigamentes red with anger (see I). And you is, who always kept his rich buck, waiting for an unmissable opportunity to buy your notebook, did very well. The fact is that Dell is closing another edition of his four-day Killer with two great offers: Inspiron 14 and Inspiron 15 4GB and Windows 7 Home Basic Original. You choose the size and color you prefer and still carries a backpack completely free. All in 12x without interest to purchase the card. No need to say is not it? This is your last chance, send bullet: http://Dell.com.br/dias_arrasadoresDell
